At some point in the very long ago we decided that creation, earth and heaven was all the job of one being, a man, possibly bearded, we called him god, 'he' used to be lots of deities, with lots of different names, and he lived in everything, looked after everything, and we were all his team-mates.. he helped us, and we helped him.
Then Christianity evolved and now the One God controls everything, and hHe doesn't like us much, and only the best Christian faithful can have any idea what goes on in His plans. The rest of us have to hope for the best, which is to be happy after our death, according to the people God still talks to.. Apparently.
