There are many problems in the world today, none of which we will admit are unsurmountable, over-population is probably the biggest, and due to our in-built survival instincts, it is now irreversible, we will continue to breed, and will shape our environments to suit our needs, which has led us to regard every other living thing on this planet as a commodity, and one we need no respect for, chickens can live in boxes as small as they are, forests can be replanted almost as quickly as we cut them down, and we can live on pretty much every square inch of land because we have cars to get us somewhere close-ish to get to reliable food and power.
